The Fenerbahçe University
2026–2027 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held on Friday, September 18,
2026, at the Block B Conference Hall. The ceremony, organized to mark the
beginning of the new academic year, was hosted by Asst. Prof. Egemen Ozan Sönmez,
Director of FBÜTÖMER.
The program began with a
moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, followed by a musical
performance and an opening speech delivered by Fenerbahçe University Rector
Prof. Dr. Fatma Kanca.
As part of the ceremony,
Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy, President of the TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center,
delivered the inaugural lecture titled “Climate Change and Scientific Research
in the Polar Regions.”
The ceremony marking the
beginning of our university’s new academic year concluded with the academic
gown ceremony.
