Ozan SÖNMEZ, Director of the Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research
Center (TÖMER) at Fenerbahçe University, participated in the Electronic Turkish
as a Foreign Language Examination (e-YDTS) Information and Consultation Meeting,
organized by the Measuring, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) on 20 August
2026 at the ÖSYM Headquarters in Ankara.
The meeting began with
the opening remarks of Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy, President of ÖSYM, and
addressed issues related to the assessment and evaluation processes of Turkish
as a foreign language, as well as the implementation of e-YDTS. Following the
opening remarks, information regarding the structure of the examination, its
administration processes, and related evaluations was shared with the
participants.
Following the briefing
sessions, the meeting continued with a question-and-answer session. During this
part of the meeting, participants’ questions regarding e-YDTS were addressed,
views on the examination processes were exchanged, and assessments by experts
in the field were shared.
Organized by ÖSYM to
assess proficiency in Turkish, e-YDTS holds particular importance in terms of
contributing to the development of assessment and evaluation standards in the
field of teaching Turkish as a foreign language. In this context, the
Information and Consultation Meeting provided an opportunity for experts from
various universities to exchange views on the evaluation and further
development of examination processes.

contributed to the consultations in line with academic studies in the fields of
teaching Turkish as a foreign language and assessment and evaluation.
