Fenerbahçe University
Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (FBÜTÖMER) held an
evaluation and information meeting ahead of the commencement of the modules for
the Spring Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year. The meeting was chaired by
Lecturer Egemen Ozan Sönmez, Director of the Center, with the participation of
the academic and administrative staff.
During the meeting, the
results of the Turkish Proficiency Exam held on 10 February were reviewed.
Particular emphasis was placed on the 21 students who successfully completed
the examination process and graduated from the Center, and the instructors who
contributed to the process were thanked.
As part of the overall
evaluation of the Fall Semester, the results of the student satisfaction survey
conducted at the end of the module were shared. The work carried out by the
academic staff was commended in light of the high satisfaction rates. The outcomes
of the meetings held with the B1 and B2 groups were also evaluated, and the
relevant feedback was included on the meeting agenda.
Within the scope of
assessment and evaluation processes, the fundamental principles concerning
rubrics, assessment sheets, and examination preparation procedures were
reiterated, and feedback regarding their implementation was discussed. Updates
concerning curriculum and materials development processes were shared,
information was provided on the revisions made, and views were exchanged in
line with new proposals. Archiving procedures were also reviewed.
Academic planning was
carried out for the A1, A2, B1, and B2 classes scheduled to begin on 23
February, and the principles governing the preparation of examination packages
were discussed. The meeting proceeded in an interactive format with the active
participation of the attendees, and the opinions and suggestions expressed were
taken into consideration.
At the conclusion of the
meeting, Lecturer Egemen Ozan Sönmez, Director of the Center, provided an
update on the accreditation process and informed the newly appointed academic
staff about the work currently being undertaken. Sönmez expressed his hope that
the Spring Semester would be productive and successful for all academic and
administrative staff.
