Fenerbahçe University
Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (FBÜTÖMER) held a
mutual evaluation meeting with students studying at the B1 and B2 levels as
part of Module II. The meeting, held on the University campus, was moderated by
Lecturer Egemen Ozan Sönmez, Director of FBÜTÖMER.
The primary objectives of
the meeting were to receive students’ opinions, suggestions, and feedback
directly, evaluate the functioning of the Turkish language teaching process
together with the students, and identify areas for improvement that would support
their academic development. In this context, students’ views on course content,
assessment and evaluation practices, examination processes, and their overall
learning experiences were carefully considered.
In his remarks during the
meeting, Lecturer Egemen Ozan Sönmez emphasized that FBÜTÖMER adopts a
student-centered approach and stated that students’ opinions and feedback serve
as valuable guidance in improving the Center’s educational quality. Noting their
satisfaction with the progress demonstrated by the students throughout Module
II, Sönmez stated that a culture of mutual communication and feedback makes the
Turkish language learning process more effective and productive.
During the interactive
meeting, students had the opportunity to openly share their expectations, the
difficulties they had encountered, and the areas they wished to see improved.
They stated that having their opinions valued increased their motivation and
that the continuation of such meetings would be highly beneficial to them.
By taking student
feedback into consideration, FBÜTÖMER aims to continuously enhance the quality
of Turkish language teaching and continue providing effective support for the
academic and cultural integration of international students.
