Sönmez, Director of the Center, attended the 2025 Summer Schools Closing
Program organized by the Yunus Emre Institute in Istanbul, representing
Fenerbahçe University Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center
(FBÜTÖMER).
This meaningful event,
which brought together young people from around the world with the Turkish
language and culture, began with the singing of the Turkish National Anthem.
The opening addresses were delivered by Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Aliy, President of
the Yunus Emre Institute, and Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and
Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye. The participants then watched a video
highlighting memorable moments from the summer school program.
The program featured
dance performances, and awards were presented to students who ranked in the
photography and video competitions. The closing program concluded with a
concert by artist Emre Altuğ.
As reported by the
Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, 735 students from
69 countries learned Turkish not only in the classroom but also through daily
life, cuisine, art, and the friendships they formed. The universal values of Turkish
culture were shared with the young participants throughout the program.

Sönmez, Director of FBÜTÖMER, emphasized the importance of such organizations
in promoting Turkish internationally and congratulated all stakeholder
institutions that contributed to the organization of the event.
