Fenerbahçe University
Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (FBÜTÖMER) and the
Assessment and Evaluation Units of the Department of Foreign Languages held a
joint meeting on 10 July 2025. The main agenda of the meeting focused on methods
and approaches aimed at enhancing the quality of assessment and evaluation
processes.
During the meeting,
attended by representatives of both units, the types of questions used in
examinations, their difficulty levels, and the targeted proficiency levels were
discussed in detail. The participants exchanged knowledge and experience on how
to improve question quality and develop more valid and reliable assessment
tools.
One of the highlights of
the meeting was a presentation by Lecturer Pelin Tekin, a faculty member of the
Department of Foreign Languages. Tekin shared her work and the methods she
employed to analyze examination questions and improve their quality.
At the conclusion of the
meeting, both units agreed that joint activities conducted in cooperation would
contribute to making assessment and evaluation processes more scientific,
consistent, and student-centered.
