Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (FBÜTÖMER)
participated in the workshop titled “The Present and Future of Teaching
Turkish to Foreigners.”
The workshop, held at the
Kemal Gözükara Campus Conference Hall, was attended by Lecturer Egemen Ozan
Sönmez, Director of FBÜTÖMER; Assistant Professor Jülide Erken; Lecturer İlayda
Özkaya; and Lecturer Tuba Kıraç.
Bringing together members
of the academic community, the event addressed current approaches, challenges,
and proposed solutions concerning the teaching of Turkish as a foreign
language. Participants discussed contemporary needs in language teaching and evaluated
strategies for the future.
The event began with an
opening address by Prof. Dr. Ersin Göse, Rector of Istanbul Arel University,
and continued with a presentation by Dr. Mehmet Altınova. During the workshop,
which consisted of three sessions held throughout the day, topics such as teaching
methods, materials development, and the effects of digitalization on foreign
language teaching were discussed.
The FBÜTÖMER team
expressed their appreciation for the information and insights shared during the
workshop and emphasized that such academic gatherings contribute to the more
effective teaching of Turkish at the global level.
